In Oktober 1999 four friends and I founded BMSO New Media GmbH in order to carry out the project
onium.com - the help company.
The idea is to run a free online charity game. When you visit ONIUM, you can donate and win quickly and easily. Every day, participants can play and simultaneously increase the donations paid by our sponsors to UNICEF and the WWF. The advertising revenues that ONIUM receives are handed out to the visitors as prize money through the game except for 30% which will go to the selected charities. These donations are made quarterly. So far we where able to generate over 10.000€ in donations for our partners UNICEF and WWF.

Claas Morlang, also a very good friend of mine. After finishing his PhD in Ingostadt he got employed at UNHCR and is now travelling the world on behalf of the United Nations. The good-looking guy to the right is
Nico Schmidt-Offhaus who I also know from my time in Karlsruhe. We studied together and founded the software company
<sitewaerts> where he still works as
CEO.

The idea of making a free charity game, was picked up well by the media as can be seen from the following pictures.
